How the file scanner (new version) affects the DLP module activation

The DLP module (Data Loss Prevention) allows you to control and prevent leakage of confidential information.

The DLP module starts working after activation Files → File activity.

Further operation depends on the license of the following module File Scanner (New Version).

DLP module without a File Scanner license

Activation Conditions	System Behavior
Server was activated with a key without a FS license. The Files → File activity option is enabled	the DLP Module option is not enabled although the option is inactive, DLP rules are running on the agent side [1] metadata is unavailable

The DLP Module option remains inactive because the Read file metadata option is unavailable without a scanner license. To activate the DLP Module, both options must be enabled simultaneously: File activity and Read file metadata.

Activation Conditions	System Behaviors
Server was activated with a key with a FS license. Two options are flagged: Files → File activity Files → Read file metadata	the DLP module will be enabled only when both options are enabled if either option is not enabled, the DLP module will be blocked but the rules will continue to work metadata is available

License Update

When switching to the new file scanner:

• The DLP module remains enabled, but the option is blocked until the Read file metadata option is enabled;

• Enable the Read file metadata option in the Files section.

• On the agent side, the module continues to work, and the rules continue to be applied.

Attention

For the DCAP tags of the Spektr system to work correctly, be sure to enable the Read file metadata option in Files.
